The agudas yisroel has a political branch which does interact with the government they do not make constant political commentation. My point was on getting emotionally and religiously attached to government officials in ways that warp our views of the government and the world.

I don’t think your wrong that we shouldn’t feel too connected to a certain party or commentator, however hard it is (ie: Ben Shapiro). And yes it is a echo chamber. But I don’t think we should ignore our organizations such as the Agudas Yisrael which interact with the government on a regular basis and often direct us on how to vote in key elections. They obviously push a certain agenda and seem to be able to respect and collaborate with the other side as well. To our benefit yes, but always with class.

For example see Johnson (who the Jewish Chicago community pushed hard against) visiting the local elementary school. https://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/headlines-breaking-stories/2188663/back-to-school-for-mayor-elect-as-johnson-meets-jewish-communal-leaders-at-chicago-yeshiva.html

This is very true. I'm assuming you have read this article from Rav Lopiansky on a similar topic.

"Klal Yisrael has many needs and sensitivities. We weigh the different options and vote for a candidate or party based on what is important to us. We engage in political barter: a vote from the community in return for advancing values important to us and allocating vital resources. We are courteous and respectful to all, but we do not identify emotionally with any candidate or party. In fact, emotional enthusiasm for a candidate or a party is an “aish zarah”!

There are a bunch but I find that Sam Harris on politics can outwit Ben Shapiro, Ben likes to lean in a bit too much into what his audience wants to hear.
